RDAQ weekend in Mackay
The Rural Doctor's Association is the medical political arm for Queensland rural doctors and we were really lucky as we were each sponsored by a member of RDAQ to attend the conference. We got to thank our sponsors personally at a social event on the first evening as well as mingle with the other uni students.
One of the memorably keynote speakers was Air CommodoreTracy Smart who gave an awe-inspiring talk about her airforce medical experiences in the field and how similarly it paralleled the excitement and conditions of rural practice.
The convention dinner on Sunday was the perfect end to a perfect weekend. It was amazing how close we got to the other medical students, and we partied well into the morning! An engaging, informative and FUN weekend!!
